Those hoping for a white Christmas have a slim hope to hold on to.

Long range models show a trough moving towards our area early next week that brings the potential for accumulating snow.

Keep in mind, this is still about a week away, so as of the now the likelihood of this system actually forming, heading our way, and dropping snow is only about 20%.

Still better than nothing!

Looking at the short term, Western Montana will continue to deal with mountain snow and slippery roads through Tuesday evening.

Skies clear by Wednesday, but the winds we’ve been dealing with remain strong.

Gusts will exceed 40 miles per hour, and be as high as 75 miles per hour for much of the area.

This will mean another mild day though.

Highs will be in the mid to upper 40s.
