1 person in custody after crashing a stolen car

(UPDATE, 4:45 p.m.) Kyler Baker told KRTV in an email: “This was my car that was wrecked. They stole it from my driveway last night. At the time of the wreck 2 suspects were arrested and 1 was still on the run.”

(1st Report, 3:41 p.m.) At least one person is in custody after crashing a vehicle that was reported stolen.

According to the Great Falls Police Department, the vehicle was reported stolen on Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday afternoon, the vehicle was spotted in the vicinity of Great Falls High School.

When officers began approaching, the driver sped away and crashed.

The driver tried to run away, but was quickly captured.

The GFPD has not yet released the name of the suspect, nor indicated whether anyone else was taken into custody.

Heather Porter posted on the KRTV Facebook poage: “A vehicle of a bunch of kids tearing/speeding through the neighborhood swerved to avoid hitting my mom and lost control and crashed… They bolted to!”
