Customers flock downtown during Small Business Saturday

Posted

It was a busy day in downtown Great Falls as the shopping surge switched from Black Friday to Small Business Saturday.

Many businesses participated with special deals and even some holiday treats to draw in customers.

Several businesses were open for both Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, but workers at Bighorn Outdoor Specialists said Saturday has brought a lot more customers through the door.

They added it’s an important day to put local merchants at the top of your shopping list.

“It’s a great chance for people to remember to support the local businesses that support them throughout the year,” Co-owner Beth Leatham said. “Most of the businesses downtown are independent or locally-owned and so the money that you spend at those businesses tends to stay in our community rather than leave town.”

Numerous businesses and establishments around town participated in Small Business Saturday including the Roadhouse Diner, which joined in the fun with a drawing.
