The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for areas along the Rocky Mountain Front.
The NWS says that a cold front will bring accumulating snow to portions of the Northern and Southern Rocky Mountain Front from Thursday morning through Friday morning.
Snow accumulation of up to three inches can be expected above 6,000 feet across these areas, which will impact backcountry recreation and some higher elevation roads.
If you are planning to recreate in the backcountry, plan on slippery trail conditions. Drivers traveling above 6,000 feet should plan on the possibility of some slick roads.

A Winter Weather Advisory for wet snow means periods of wet snow will cause primarily travel difficulties and impacts to outdoor recreation.
