Montanans hit the streets in Lewistown to welcome autumn back to Big Sky Country as the 29th annual Chokecherry Festival took over on Saturday.
The day kicked off with a pancake breakfast, then a chokecherry culinary contest, and a pit spitting contest.
The chokecherry, a small, maroon-colored fruit with a puckery taste, grows wild in Montana.
Main Street is packed with eight blocks of booths including arts and crafts, food vendors, and live entertainment.
The festival also includes a 5K run/walk and 10K run.
The 2018 Chokecherry Festival is expected to run until 5 p.m.
