The Confederated Salish Kootenai Tribe Division of Fire reports that a fire erupted in the Rattlesnake area on Thursday.
It’s about 10 miles northeast of Hot Springs, and has burned about 2,000 acres in grass and timber.
Crews are fighting the fire with three helicopters, two air tankers, seven smaller single-engine air tankers, and 110 firefighters and equipment on the ground.
There have been no reports of any injuries or damaged/threatened buildings.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
