Tammy Lacey, the Great Falls Public Schools superintendent, announced Monday morning that she will be retiring at the end of the 2018-2019 school year.
Lacey made the announcement during the district’s convocation assembly.
Lacey says she wanted her staff to be the first to know of her retirement because she is grateful for all their hard work over the years.
Lacey is entering into her sixth year of being the superintendent and she says there have been so many great moments over the years.
"Just some amazing achievements of our students. There have been so many opportunities to celebrate staff members and just our community as a whole. Of course in making sure our facilities are viable educational institutions for years to come. Lots of things to celebrate and more things to celebrate to come,” Lacey said.
Lacey’s last day with GFPS will be on June 30th.
