Saturday was the last day of the Central Montana Fair in Lewistown as it closes out its 125th year.
People visited the fair for many different reasons such as for the rides, the cotton candy, the vendors, and of course the fair staple, Brockel’s Chocolate.
The family-owned business from Billings has set up shop at the fair since 1992 and has only missed out once.
“One year there was an injury in the family, a back problem, and they were not able to come to our fair and I have to tell you, people would walk out. They were so upset that we didn’t have Brockel’s here. This has been such an important part of the fair,” said Paul Huff, 2018 Fair Person of the Year.
Gary and Patti Brockel opened their store in Billings in 1978. Now their two daughters, Jaci and Jodi, help run it.
The Central Montana Fair also included a PRCA Rodeo and a night show with headliner Easton Corbin.
