It’s almost time to send the kids back to school, and with that comes buying school supplies – and the Parent-Teacher Organization in the Vaughn School District is asking for a little help.
They have placed three boxes around Vaughn and Great Falls and are asking for school supplies such as notebooks, crayons, and pencils, along with tissues and hand sanitizer.
The donation boxes are located at:
- Glacier Gateway – Vaughn
- US Post Office – Vaughn
- Access Fitness – Great Falls
Kim Lattin, the PTO vice president, says that smaller school districts sometimes go unnoticed and she knows many teachers who use their own money to buy the supplies for their classrooms.
“Vaughn is in its own little school district on its own. We do have a lot of kids out there that are in the lower-income base level of things and we just thought it would be a great idea to do some bins locally and collect donations,” Lattin said.
Lattin added that the school district is always looking for supplies, not just at the beginning of the school year.
