(MISSOULA) Police in Missoula are concerned that Jermain Charlo, reported missing last month, is being held against her will.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the disappearance Charlo, 23 years old, who also goes by the name Liz.
Charlo was reported missing on June 16th sometime between midnight and 1 a.m. after visiting the Badlander, Golden Rose, and Darkhorse bars in Missoula. She was reportedly last seen in the area of the Orange Street Food Farm.
She was wearing a gray hoodie UnderArmour hoodie with a large UnderArmour camo logo in the middle at the time of her disappearance. She was also wearing a light blue baseball cap with a tan bill with three trees on the front logo.
Investigators believe that Charlo is somewhere where her freedom is being restricted because of changes to her pattern of life — specifically her lack of social media usage since she was last seen.
"We’re hopeful that we can find her, that she is somewhere safe. But the fact that she has not been on social media for over three weeks now is concerning to us because her pattern of life prior to that was that she was on there frequently and daily and she hasn’t been," said MPD Detective Guy Baker.
"She’s somewhere where either her ability to move about freely or have access to the internet is being restricted, but something is going on that concerns us because of her lack of activity," Baker added.
Police say they have received some new leads in the case but could not discuss them in any detail because of the ongoing investigation.
MPD is working with the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Flathead Tribal Police.
