The 10th annual Lions Family FunFest will kick off on Saturday, July 14 with music, games, and prize giveaways for kids.
The Great Falls Lions Clubs and Great Falls Park and Recreation are hosting the event, which is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lions Park located at 10th Avenue South and 27th Street.
The event is free to the public due to the three Lions Clubs in Great Falls (Great Falls Lions Club, Sunrise Lions Club, and Electric City Lions Club) and several donors.
Families, neighbors, and friends are invited to celebrate with fun, food, and entertainment including a special appearance by Louie the Lion, the Lions Club mascot.
Activities include music, Jolly Rogue Shrine Clowns, children’s games and activities, three Jolly Jumpers, and giveaways such as bicycles with helments, tricycles, Razor scooters, various sporting equipment, and other items.
According to a press release, the Great Falls Lions Club has worked for many years to raise money for improvements at Lions Park.
The improvements include raising $42,000 to purchase and install a new play structure in 2007. The club and members donated over $10,000 towards the total amount.
The Club annually plants flowers and does general clean-up at the park and also purchased nearly 30 memorial trees for Lions members planted by Park and Recreation.
