Two people died in a one-vehicle crash after colliding with a rock wall early Saturday.
The Montana Highway Patrol reports that at around 12:45 a.m., two people in a Jeep Grand Cherokee were westbound on Montana Highway 28 when the driver failed to negotiate a turn.
The driver then over-corrected and the Jeep collided with a rock cliff face and one passenger was ejected onto the roadway.
The driver was a woman from Kalispell, and the passenger was a man from Columbia Falls; both were 35 years old, according to the MHP.
The name of the victims have not yet been released.
Both the passenger and the driver — who were not wearing seatbelts — died at the scene.
The Montana Highway Patrol says that alcohol, drugs, and speed are all considered factors in the crash, and are continuing to investigate.
