The Kmart store in Havre will close permanently in late September, according to the Havre Herald.
The store’s closing is part of larger efforts to “streamline” the company’s operations and focus on the best performing stores, said Missy Pomerantz, Sears Holdings Corp. communications director, Thursday afternoon. The store will close in late September 2018, according to Pomerantz.
“Liquidation sales will begin as early as July 12,” Pomerantz said.
“Eligible associates impacted by the store closure will receive severance and will have the opportunity to apply for open positions at area Kmart or Sears stores,” Pomerantz said.
Kmart is the third large store in Havre in as many months to announce it’s leaving town. Herberger’s announced in April that is was closing, and Sears Hometown Stores announced earlier in the month that it too was closing its Havre store..
