The first-ever Craft Beer Week kicked off in Great Falls on Saturday with a race to the finish line.
An obstacle challenge in Gibson Park gave competitors a chance to show off their athletic abilities while also enjoying a cold brew.
Competitors had to climb a miniature rock wall, walk across a balance beam, and flip tractor tires among other obstacles.
In between two obstacles, the competitors had to drink a glass of beer.
Mighty Mo, Jeremiah Johnson, and Black Eagle brewing companies provided the refreshments while the Hi-Line Climbing Center, Anchor Fitness, Mind Body Yoga, Bighorn Outdoor Specialists, and Montana Vet Program created the obstacles.
Melissa Darko helped with the competition and she said it’s nice to welcome the event to Great Falls.
"Everyone else has a craft beer week, why shouldn’t we?" she said. "The Downtown Association and the breweries deserve all of the recognition for this as it’s a really good thing."
There are more events including brewery tours and tastings planned for the rest of this week.
