Recent rain and cooler weather has continued to alleviate drought conditions throughout Montana.

The current monthly drought outlook for the month of November is suggesting drought removal and significant improvements in the Northwestern corner of the state.

According to the latest USDA Crop Progress Report, precipitation was reported at 77 weather stations across the state.

The highest recorded precipitation for last week was in Melstone with 2.19 inches of moisture.

Topsoil moisture conditions for the state were 65 percent adequate to surplus, above last year’s 56 percent.

Subsoil moisture conditions were 50 percent adequate to surplus which is above last year’s 30 percent.

Rain and snow is still on track to impact Montana Thursday afternoon.

Cooler and more unsettled weather is expected this weekend.
