Montana Ag Network Weather (10/31) Unsettled weather moves in

Posted

The combination of rainy weather a few weeks back, followed up with plenty of sunshine allowed for pasture and range conditions throughout Montana to improve.

According to the latest USDA Crop Progress Report issued on Monday, cattle and sheep are starting to come off summer ranges.

Livestock movement from summer pasture is behind the previous year and 5-year average with 66 percent of cattle and 62 percent of sheep moved.

More unsettled weather is on track to return to Montana on Wednesday.

A cold front will enter Western Montana Wednesday afternoon causing snow in the mountains and rain in the plains.

A rain and snow mixture is likely along the Rocky Mountain Front.

Mild temperatures for this time of year and more moisture is expected into this next weekend.
