Cereal is not only a quick and easy breakfast, but because there are so many varieties, there’s something everyone can enjoy. If you’re looking for some new flavors, however, General Mills has you covered with a whopping 16 new cereals, all hitting store shelves nationwide throughout the winter.
One of the new cereals is Dunkaroos, inspired by the cookie and frosting snack of the same name popular with ’90s kids! Packing nostalgia in every spoonful, the new breakfast treat is made with vanilla frosting flavored-cookie cereal mixed with sweet and crunchy rainbow sprinkles.
The 15 other new kinds of cereal in General Mills’ lineup include Multi Grain Cheerios with Real Strawberries, Chocolate Strawberry Cheerios and Cinnamon Toast Crunch Chocolate Churros, two years after they released Cinnamon Toast Crunch Churros.
General Mills is also releasing some popular cereals in different combinations for snacking in on-the-go pouches, including Cinnamon Toast Crunch Remix: Cinnamon Vanilla, Chocolate Toast Crunch Remix: Chocolate Caramel and Golden Graham S’more Remix, which also includes Cocoa Puffs and marshmallows.
There are also a few cereal varieties for kids in the lineup, including Pokémon and Sesame Street. Pokémon fans should enjoy the berry corn puff cereal, as it also contains bite-sized Pikachu-themed marshmallows and each box features trainer quizzes and an Evolution Confusion game to test your Pokémon knowledge.
For the littlest breakfast fans, the Sesame Street cereal features Elmo, Cookie Monster and Abby Cadabby and each box opens up like a book, featuring six dual-language (English and Spanish) short stories with Elmo. It is available in two varieties: “1 2 3 Berry” with number-shaped pieces and “C is for Cinnamon” with letter-shaped pieces.
You’ll also find LÄRABAR Cereal in multiple flavors, all inspired by decadent treats, just like the LÄRABAR energy bars. Made with simple ingredients, like oats, nuts, spices, fruit and chocolate chips, the cereal will come in Apple Pie, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and Cashew Cookie flavors.
There are even three new cereals for those following a low-carb diet. The Keto-friendly Wonderworks cereals have 6 grams of total fat, 3 grams net carbs, 15-17 grams of protein and 1 gram of sugar per serving. It comes in cinnamon, chocolate and peanut butter flavors.
If none of these flavors are piquing your interest, Kellogg’s cereal lineup includes some recent additions you might like, including Little Debbie oatmeal creme pie, fruit-filled Frosted Mini-Wheats and Minecraft Creeper Crunch. You can also find Funfetti Birthday Cake cereal, and just in time for the holidays, “Elf” cereal from General Mills that tastes like maple syrup.
