Dolly Parton plays an angel in a new Netflix holiday movie musical and the role seems fitting for this entertainment legend. Beyond her heavenly voice, the country superstar was a little girl’s guardian angel recently while on the set of the Netflix movie.
During the filming of “Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square,” 9-year-old performer Talia Hill of Davenport, Florida, was almost involved in a tragic accident involving a car. However, some quick action on Parton’s part helped avert a disaster.
“We were on set and I was at the hot chocolate station, and they said ‘Go back to your beginning positions,'” Talia said to Inside Edition. “So, there is a vehicle moving and I was walking, and somebody grabbed me and pulled me back and I looked up — and it was Dolly Parton.”
Talia was surprised to see who pulled her out of the way of the oncoming vehicle — and Parton’s response to the girl’s reaction was priceless.
“Well, I am an angel, you know,” Parton quipped, according to Talia.

Talia and both of her brothers, Tristan and Tyson, are all cast members in Parton’s new movie, which debuted on Netflix in November as part of the streaming network’s holiday lineup.
Parton stars as an angel sent to save a small town from being taken over by a “Scrooge-like” woman, played by Christine Baranski. The holiday flick features 18 original songs written by Parton.
As bad as 2020 has been for most of us, Parton has been making lemonade out of the lemons of this year.
Beyond her many entertainment gifts, including her first new holiday album in 30 years and a bedtime story series for children, Parton also donated $1 million to the research effort that developed one of the upcoming COVID-19 vaccines.
Perhaps Dolly Parton is everyone’s guardian angel.
