This week’s One Class At A Time recipient will use her grant to purchase a new set of novels for her 11th grade class.
English students will explore the book ‘Ready Player One’ along with the film.
Chester-Joplin-Inverness High School English teacher Teresa Tompkins aims to inspire ‘aliterate’ students, or those who can read, but choose not to.
She hopes the books will provide reading comprehension and develop confidence in communication.
The book also provides another form of learning and entertainment that’s not centered around the online gaming culture it describes.
