GREAT FALLS — BlackedOut 406 Taxi in Great Falls is working to help Toby's House Crisis Nursery, which provides emergency childcare for kids six and under.

It's in honor of national "Be Kind to Human Kind" week.

Anyone who uses the taxi/limo service using the in-app promo code #BEKIND will get $2 off their ride - and BlackedOut406 will donate that $2 to Toby's House.

“When we get those businesses like 406 Taxi and they call and say, ‘Hey, we want to help you guys out,’ it just warms our heart so much to know the Great Falls community is coming together,” said Toby’s House program coordinator Samantha Stutzman.

With everything that’s going on in COVID-19 world — masks, no masks — it seems like there’s a lot of walking on egg shells so it seemed like a good time to reach out and show that people need to be kind to each other,” Blackedout 406 Taxi owner Ryan Perrin said.

Toby’s House will use the money for food for kids, salaries, and utilities. In 2011, October "Toby" Perez died at the age of two after being physically abused - and that's what brought about the idea of Toby's House Crisis Nursery. A crisis nursery is a licensed facility providing short term, non-medical residential care and supervision for children under six years of age, voluntarily brought by a parent of legal guardian due to a family crisis or stressful situation for no-cost childcare.
