GREAT FALLS — Cellular Plus stores in Montana will be giving away free backpacks filled with school supplies.
Donations will be staying local, so each backpack donated at a specific location will be distributed to children in that same area.
We spoke with Jennifer Sickafoose, who's a store manager at Cellular Plus in Great Falls: "I didn't realize how much it was something that I guess the community needed. And then right now with everything going on, some people aren't able to work. So something like this could be a massive help for them and one less thing that they have to stress about."
This is the second year this event has been held at Cellular Plus.
"I'm excited when I got to work last year. There's a line on the sidewalk waiting for us to open, and it was nice and like they all got to come in here, and it was thrilling to see so many people come in and get help when they needed it," she said.
There is a limited amount of supplies available and will be distributed while supplies last. The Cellular Plus team members who are giving out the free backpacks will be wearing masks and gloves and following social distancing guidelines.
The backpacks will be given out on Saturday, July 25, from 10:00 a.m. until noon. No purchase is necessary to receive a backpack, but a child must be present with an adult to claim their free bag. Click here for a list of locations.
