Community Connection: United Way of Cascade County’s 50th Anniversary

Posted

The United Way of Cascade County is challenging you to complete 50 random acts of kindness in honor of the organization’s 50th anniversary.

The idea of Cascade County businesses having one coordinated fundraising effort to mobilize resources for area nonprofits started in the 1920s. In 1969, the organization became known as United Fund of Cascade County and five years later became the United Way of Cascade County.

To celebrate 50 years, United Way officials are asking you to complete 50 random acts of kindness throughout the year and to share your story on social media.

The random acts of kindness can include: leaving change on a wishing fountain, giving up your bus seat for another person, paying for someone’s morning coffee, or buying supplies for local schools. For more ideas or information, visit the United Way of Cascade County’s Facebook page.
