SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH (WCPO) — The 3-year-old girl who had been missing since Sunday night has been found.

WCPO reporter Ally Kraemer saw a man come from around an apartment building holding Janyila Turner at about 8:30 a.m. Monday.

The man was Joshua Green, the girl’s uncle. He said he rescued Janyila from an abandoned apartment. Janyila had been missing since 9 p.m. Sunday from 1570 Meredith Drive, according to Chief Robert Browder.

Janna Green, the girl’s grandmother, said the situation seems suspicious because she doesn’t think her granddaughter would wander off.

“I think someone took her for the simple fact that how did she get in an abandoned apartment that was locked? That’s the biggest question,” she said.

Authorities took the girl to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center for evaluation.

Police have not confirmed who found the girl, how they found her or where she was found.

WCPO will update this story.
