Mesa, AZ (KNXV) — A 10-year-old Mesa boy is selling lemonade to help a family member in need.
“I’m raising money for my cousin, he’s battling leukemia,” Braden Palacios said.
Braden’s cousin Marcelo lives in New Jersey. Braden is thousands of miles away, but says he knew he wanted to help.
“He’s a great kid. He has a big heart,” Braden’s dad, Christian, said.
Christian says it was his son’s idea to put together the stand, near Higley Road and Southern Avenue, complete with a picture of his cousin. He says neighbors have been very generous, and the selfless act is making his family proud.
“It says to me he knows what family is all about,” Christian said.
