Former Montana Governor Steve Bullock has a new gig in politics. He is one of three Democrats named as co-chairs to lead American Bridge 21st Century, a group aiming to support President Joe Biden's agenda and maintain Democrats' slim majorities in the U.S. House and Senate in the 2022 midterm elections, according to The Washington Post.

Former Democratic National Committee chair Tom Perez and former Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards are the other two co-chairs. They and Bullock will join former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, who began advising the group last year, according to The Post.

American Bridge spent about $62 million in 2020 to defeat former President Donald Trump, and the group has a $100 million ad budget to throw into the upcoming campaign, according to the Post.

Bullock finished his second term as Montana governor at the end of last year and was prevented from running again because of term limits. He made a brief run for president in 2020 before dropping out, then made an unsuccessful bid to unseat Republican U.S. Sen. Steve Daines in Montana.

“American Bridge 21st Century helped lead the fight to defeat Trump and retake the Senate with innovative approaches… I look forward to working with [the team] to champion the Biden Administration’s successes and help Democrats grow their majorities in 2022," Bullock said in a statement provided by American Bridge on its Twitter account.

Bullock will help with outreach to rural communities, Bradley Beychok, American Bridge president, told the paper.
