Happy first day of autumn, everyone!

Although temperatures have been fall-like in Montana for the past few weeks, it is officially fall tonight at 7:54 PM.

With decreased daylight and the cooler temperatures that arrive around this time of year, this causes the chlorophyll in leaves to break down and exposes the pigments (or all the different colors.)

For the first day of fall, north central Montana will see mostly dry conditions with increasing cloud cover with chances of rain moving in again this evening with the passing of a cold front.

This cold front will continue to move across the state on Sunday and shower activity will decrease in coverage from northwest to southeast.

Temperatures on Sunday afternoon will reach the 50s and 60s.

Temperatures will continue to trend this way throughout the work week as well with more chances of showers on Monday evening.
