Harbor Freight will soon open a store in Great Falls.
Harbor Freight is primarily a hardware and tool/equipment store with about 900 locations across the country.
Its website says: “From hand tools and generators, to air and power tools, from shop equipment to automotive tools, Harbor Freight offers more than 7,000 tools and accessories.:
Craig Raymond, the city planning director, confirmed on Friday that Harbor Freight will open in the large building that until recently was Herbergers department store adjoining Holiday Village Mall.
On Thursday, Harbor Freight filed an permit application for some minor renovations to the building, primarily on the inside.
Raymond told KRTV that the permit process generally takes up to four weeks for review.
Once approved, Harbor Freight can begin work, and Raymond said that people can expect to see construction at the building within the next week.
Several days ago, Harbor Freight posted a job opening for a general manager at the Great Falls store. There is no word yet on how many employees the store will need, or when hiring for the jobs will begin.
Harbor Freight has several locations in Montana, including Billings, Helena, and Kalispell.
