(BOZEMAN) A Saturday night ATV crash left one man dead and a woman injured near Clyde Park, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

MHP reports that at around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, a 20-year-old woman from Modesto, California, was driving a Polaris Ranger 500 utility vehicle westbound on Upper Cottonwood Road near Briggs Lane in Park County.

The passenger was a 23-year-old man from Great Falls. Neither was wearing a seatbelt or helmets, and roads were bare and dry, according to MHP.

The woman was driving too fast for conditions when attempting to navigate a tight left curve. MHP says she lost control, over-corrected, and rolled once, the vehicle coming to rest on its side. Both the driver and the passenger were ejected.

The male passenger died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash, while the woman was taken to a hospital for treatment; the nature and extent of her injuries has not been disclosed.

The names of those involved have not yet been released.

We will update you as we get more information.

UPDATE: The man who died has been identified as 23-year old Caleb Carroll.
