The Pita Pit restaurant in Great Falls will not open for several weeks, according to manager Janett Talley.

The restaurant, located near 10th Avenue South and 23rd Street, was heavily damaged when a pickup truck crashed through it early Sunday.

Initially, Talley thought that they would be able to re-open within a few days, but on Thursday, she told KRTV that they basically have to gut the interior due to the amount of damage. They are working on new floors, new equipment, painting, tables, and chairs.

Talley says that all employees will be taken care of while the restaurant is being repaired.

At this point, Talley says they hope to be open by the end of October.

She added that all that really matters is that nobody was hurt in the crash.

Allen David Roberts, 25 years old, has been charged with six felony counts of criminal endangerment in connection with the crash, which happened as he was leading police officers on a high-speed chase.

He is also facing a felony count of theft (possession of stolen property), and the following misdemeanors: obstructing a peace officer; travel in wrong direction; reckless driving; failure to carry proof of insurance; fleeing a peace officers; operating a vehicle with improper registration; duty upon striking unattended vehicle; duty upon striking fixtures or other property upon highway; accidents involving another person.
