The Electric City Pittie Committee is hosting “Companion Animal CPR Training” in Great Falls on Saturday, September 22nd.

The event will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the conference room of the Great Falls Clinic Specialty Center located at 3000 15th Avenue South.

The training will be taught by Erin Kolczak, who is a veterinary technician, and veterinarian Kathy Weaver from Best Friends Animal Hospital.

They will be discussing how to clear an obstructed airway, how to give appropriate rescue breathing, and how to perform chest compressions.

Erin said, “Animals, obviously, are different from people, so our hand placement and depth of compression will vary based on type of animal and size. Participants will get the opportunity to practice technique on both a medium-sized dog and an average-sized cat model.”

Participants will receive printed educational materials, a certificate of completion, lunch will be provided, and there will be time for questions and practice with the CPR animals.

The event will be at the Great Falls Clinic Specialty Center Conference room. Entrance is the north facing door under the “conference room” sign.

Cost of the training is $10 per person and registration can be done online by clicking here.

Space is limited and registration is required prior to the event.
