Woman charged for firing gun in alley

Katrina Morsette, 27, was charged with felony criminal endangerment after shooting a gun in an alleyway behind a residence on Friday.

Great Falls Police officers responded to a home near 9th Street South and 3rd Avenue around 7 p.m.

According to the Great Falls Police Department, Morsette had fired a shot into the air and people inside a nearby residence felt threatened.

Police surrounded the home and Morsette was taken into custody about 45 minutes after officers arrived.

The GFPD said she may face other charges.

Her booking photo has not yet been released; the Cascade County Detention Center usually does not release booking photos on weekends.

(1st Report, Friday, 7:03 pm) We have received reports of a large police presence near 9th Street South and 3rd Avenue.

We have also received reports that some of the officers have their weapons drawn, and that officers have blocked traffic in the area.

Several people have come out of a house at the request of the officers.

We have also received one unconfirmed report that a person inside the residence may be armed.

At this point, the GFPD has not released any information about the incident.
