The Park County Coroner has identified Caleb Carroll of Great Falls as the man who died in an ATV crash over the weekend. Carroll was 23 years old.

He was a passenger on the ATV which was driven by a 20-year-old woman from Modesto, California, whose name has not been released.

The Saturday night crash happened near Clyde Park, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

The MHP says that at around 9:30 p.m., the woman was driving a Polaris Ranger 500 utility vehicle west on Upper Cottonwood Road near Briggs Lane in Park County.

The woman was driving too fast for conditions when attempting to navigate a tight left curve. MHP says she lost control, over-corrected, and rolled once, the vehicle coming to rest on its side. Both the driver and the passenger were thrown from the ATV.

According to the MHP, neither person was wearing a seatbelt or helmets, and roads were bare and dry, according to MHP.

Carroll died at the scene; the woman was taken to a hospital for treatment; the nature and extent of her injuries has not been disclosed.
