A house fire in Great Falls on Wednesday is still being investigated.

Great Falls Fire Rescue was called out at about 7:30 p.m. to the fire on the 600 block of 7th Street South.

The duplex was fully engulfed by the fire when firefighters arrived.

One person was rescued from inside before firefighters arrived. The person was taken to a hospital; the nature and extent of the person’s injuries have not been disclosed.

A residence to the south of the fire sustained minor damage to its exterior.

At this point, investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fire, nor released an estimate on the dollar amount of damage.

In addition to GFFR, the Great Falls Police Department and Great Falls Emergency Services responded to the scene.

Tristan Johnson posted on the KRTV Facebook page: “We called the police. When we got down the ally the house was engulfed with flames and windows started to burst from the fire. There was a big boom that came from inside the house. There were also a few men breaking windows out to see if anyone was in there and the man jumped out the window. Then a police office and another man drug him across the street. Short after they drug him to the end of the street where an ambulance showed up.”

We will update you if we get more information.
