James Joseph Sangrey was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after a high-risk search warrant resulted in a brief standoff with police officers in Great Falls.
The Great Falls Police Department said the incident began just after 1 p.m. when officers along with the High-Risk Unit, U.S. Marshals, the Violent Offenders Task Force, and a helicopter from Homeland Security were searching for Sangrey, who was wanted on a warrant.
Law enforcement learned he was inside a home near 11th Avenue South and 18th Street. Sangrey was taken peacefully into custody around 2:30 p.m. after a standoff.
According to the Montana Department of Corrections, Sangrey has criminal convictions in Cascade County for criminal endangerment and criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
No one was injured during the incident.
